“CRAZY LOVE” NAMED BEST DOCUMENTARY SHORT AT DOCSMX
The latest documentary by Martyna Peszko has captured top honours the Mexican festival.
DocsMX is among Central America's leading documentary film festival. Formerly known as DocsDF – Festival Internacional de Cine Documental de la Ciudad de México – after a decade of success, the organisers embarked on a bold reimagining of the event, beginning with its rebranding.
The winning film Crazy Love follows Magda and Michał, performers with Down's syndrome from the renowned Theatre 21 company, as their relationship blossoms into romance. After an enthusiastic proposal, the couple begins planning their wedding, meeting mixed reactions from those closest to them. As initial excitement gives way to the realities of living on their own, doubts start to surface. Yet despite daily challenges and family concerns, Magda and Michał remain steadfast in their dream of building a life together away from their family homes. Will they make it?
