SUBMIT YOUR PROJECT TO DOCS_BARCELONA PRO 2026
Submissions are now open for next year’s DocsBarcelona Pro – one of the key events in the documentary industry, long established as a crucial platform for project development, presentation, and international collaboration. The event will be held on 7-17 May 2026, with the industry side scheduled for 9-14 May.
Located at the heart of the Mediterranean, DocsBarcelona Pro has served as a
natural hub for documentary creatives from Europe and Latin America for 28 years. It
is a space where professionals from around the world can develop projects, forge
new connections, secure financing, and introduce fresh ideas to the non-fiction
sector. This year, organisers have significantly increased the awards pool to nearly
€60,000, including €42,500 in direct financial support.
The call is open to feature-length documentaries and documentary series at various
stages of production. The programme is divided into two main sections:
FORUM – Financing Activities:
Public Pitch – presentation of projects in development to broadcasters,
distributors, sales agents, and potential co-producers.
Rough Cut Pitch – sessions for projects in the final stages of editing, aimed at
representatives of financing bodies and sales companies.
New Tech Pitch – pitch sessions for projects that utilise VR, AR, AI, web3, or
blockchain technologies.
Speed Meetings – quick, 15-minute meetings with international decision- makers.
TRAINING – Training Activities:
Campus DocsBarcelona – a year-long mentoring programme for feature- length non-fiction projects, led by acclaimed experts.
Artistic Consultancies for Rough Cut Projects – individual, 80-minute
artistic consultations with international specialists, curated by Tue Steen
Müller.
The submission deadline is 30 January 2026, except for artistic consultancies, where applications will be accepted until 23 February. Detailed guidelines for each activity, along with the application form, are available on the event’s website.
