THE SCREENING OF POLISH FILMS AT LAGO FILM FEST

The anniversary tenth edition of the Italian festival Lago Film Fest begins today in Revine Lago. The festival program includes a programme of Polish short films.

In this year's competition, only one Polish film will compete for the award. The animated film "Toto" by Zbigniew Czapla will compete against 36 films produced around the world.  Also in the same competition, the documentary film by Łukasz Konopa, "Vegas", will be shown. Konopa is a graduate of the Krzysztof Kieślowski Faculty of Radio and Television at the University of Silesia, who is currently studying at the English NFTS. Apart from two competition sections (international and Italian), the Lago Fest features also numerous special screenings, retrospectives, concerts, as well as a scriptwriting competition, within the frames of which the most interesting scripts of Italian short films are presented.

In the special screenings of Polish short films, organised within the frames of the Eurovision section, six film will be screened. The programme consists of three animated films: "Noise" by Przemysław Adamski, "Games" by Maja Tetłak and "Beach" by Paweł Prewencki, the documentary film "Freestyle Life" by Adam Palenta and "Hermits" by Kacper Czubak, as well as the short fiction film "Frozen Stories" by Grzegorz Jaroszuk. The screening, which is held on Tuesday, 22nd July at 10 p.m., was made in cooperation with Krakow Film Foundation. Also, programmes from Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Norway, Estonia and Lithuania were invited to participate in the same Eurovision section.

The festival lasts to 26th July.
