POLISH DOCUMENTARIES AT THE FESTIVAL IN SYRIA

At the forthcoming 3rd International Documentary Film Festival DOX BOX in Syria six Polish documentaries will be shown. Three of them will compete for the audience's award – the only award given in accordance with the viewers' votes.

At the forthcoming 3rd International Documentary Film Festival DOX BOX in Syria six Polish documentaries will be shown. Three of them will compete for the audience's award – the only award given in accordance with the viewers' votes.

DOX BOX is not only a film festival – it is also an event that encompasses the areas of work of independent authors and institutions from the Arabic countries and around the world. The screenings of documentaries in Damascus, debates, meetings with authors and diverse publications testify to the developing structure of the young festival. The viewer plays an important role in its development, so the audience's award (150,000 Syrian pounds – approximately 3000 USD)is the only award given to the films taking part in the main programme. Three Polish films will compete in the contest: “The Lucky Ones” by Tomasz Wolski, “Mother” by Jakub Piątek and “Six Weeks” by Marcin Janos Krawczyk.

What is more, in the thematic extra-contest programme ”Men & Women” the following films will be shown: ”A Woman Sought” by Michał Marczak and “Till It Hurts” by Marcin Koszałka, and in the programme “Working Class Goes to Heaven” – ”Our street. Cinema version ” by Marcin Latałło.

This year's edition DOX BOX will take place from 3rd to 11th March.
