"DON JUAN" AWARDED IN GÖTEBORG
The 39th edition of the International Film Festival in Göteborg has just ended. "Don Juan," directed by Jerzy Śladkowski was given the Dragon Award in the best Nordic documentary film category.
"Don Juan" is a Swedish production, though Polish film-makers are responsible for its success. The film is directed by Jerzy Śladkowski, Wojciech Staroń is the cinematographer, and the editing is the work of Jakub Śladkowski and Agnieszka Bojanowska.
The film "Don Juan" is a story of 22-year-old Oleg and his mother, Marina, who wants to free him from his lethargy. According to her, the boy suffers from autism, so the woman comes up with various ideas for unconventional cures.
In the jury's justification of the verdict we read that the film is a captivating story with an unforgettable protagonist, made in a modern way, but at the same time, firmly rooted in the documentary film tradition, asking the question: what is normal?
