MACIEJ KUBICKI IN THE EMERGING PRODUCERS PROGRAMME
Emerging Producers is a programme, focusing on education and promotion, dedicated to talented documentary film producers from the European Union countries, which accompanies the festival in Jihlava. This year, the Polish film producer Maciej Kubicki will participate in it.
The aim of the project is to integrate the new generation of producers with professionals who have been working for many years in different fields of the film industry, which is to bear fruit in the future and result in European documentary film co-productions. The organisers want to create a friendly environment, enabling diverse and creative projects to confront the specialists at film markets.
Producers who apply for the programme should be present at the local film market for a couple of years and have at least one completed film, which was distributed in cinemas or screened at festivals. Candidates also have to have the ambition to create productions for the European audience in co-operation with other companies from the European Union.
This year, Maciej Kubicki qualified for the participation in the programme. He currently works as a creative producer and is a board member of Telemark (Besta Film Group) - one of the leading producer companies, co-operating with Polish documentary film-makers. He can boast such productions as: "The gift," dir. by Przemysław Kamiński, "Emigranci," dir. by Paweł Wysoczański, "One man show," dir. by Jakub Piątek and television series: "The Pact" by Marek Lechki, "The Pact 2" by Leszek Dawid (also as a scriptwriter) and "Without Secrets."
Polish producer Danuta Krasnohorska from CoLab Pictures participated in the previous edition of the programme.
Emerging Producers, organised and co-ordinated by Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival, is held from 26 to 30 October 2016.
