POLISH DOCUMENTARIES AT INTERNATIONAL FESTIVALS IN MAY

There will be many events in Canada and Germany, as well as screenings in Benelux and Romania. See where and which Polish documentaries will be screened at international festivals this month.

The Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival has been running since the end of April. A total of 7 Polish films are featured in the program of this prestigious event. In turn, the Jean Rouch International Film Festival launched in France at the beginning of the month, where Paweł Łoziński's The Balcony Movie will have a competition screening. This isn't the only international screening this film will enjoy in May. The documentary will also be shown to the audience at the Dokumentarfilmsalon auf St. Pauli and the 17th Polish Film Festival in Germany, as well as the DOXA Documentary Film Festival in Canada, DocAviv The Tel Aviv Documentary Film Festival in Israel, the One World Romania International Human Rights & Documentary Film Festival in Romania, and the international Polish Film Festival “Vistula”. The program of the last festival also includes Michał Kawecki's No Hero At All.

In May, during IDFA Meets Dutch viewers will see Daniel by Anastazja Dąbrowska. And at the Millennium Documentary Film Festival in Belgium, the audience will get a chance to see Kacper Lisowski's Judges Under Pressure. The documentary about the Polish judiciary will also be screened at the Neisse Film Festival. The program of this Polish-German festival also includes The Amazons by Magdalena Sinicka, Only the Wind by Zofia Kowalewska, and No Hero At All by Michał Kawecki.

The European Union Short Film Festival in Canada invited Marcin Polar's The Tough to its programme, and the ZLIN FILM FESTIVAL – International Film Festival for Children and Youth, which takes place in the Czech Republic, invited Monika Kotecka and Karolina Poryzała's The Herd.
