POLISH DOCS PRO DELEGATION AT JI.HLAVA INDUSTRY 2024

Jihlava Industry is an international event for the documentary film industry that takes place during the International Documentary Film Festival in Jihlava, Czech Republic. The event, which takes place at the end of October/beginning of November, will be attended by a Polish delegation from Polish Docs PRO.

The Ji.hlava Industry Programme includes a number of events aimed at the international documentary industry, including New Visions Forum & Market, Festival Identity, Emerging Producers, Matchmaking Accelerator and Visegrad Accelerator. One of the delegations visiting Jihlava at the end of October will be a  Polish Docs PRO delegation of producers and filmmakers from Poland organised by the Krakow Film Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

In addition, the project 'Sugarland' directed by Julia Groszek, prod. Alicja Gancarz / Autograph, will be presented during the Piching Ji.hlava New Visions Forum: Europe. The Forum follows new trends in contemporary European film production and is therefore open to various types of non-fiction audiovisual formats. The aim is to create an active hub connecting producers and other professionals to support the financing and development of projects, as well as their subsequent promotion and distribution.

In the Emerging Producers Programme designed for talented documentary film producers from EU countries, Poland will be representd by Zofia Kujawska - an experienced film producer who has been involved in the production and coordination of film and TV productions for years. She specialises in independent, documentary and fiction productions. Her skills include team management, budgeting, and organising film sets. Zofia Kujawska has collaborated with many acclaimed directors, including Agnieszka Zwiefka (Silent Trees, Vika!), Jakub Piątek (Pianoforte), Marta Minorowicz (fiction film Illusion) and Edyta Wróblewska (When Harmattan Blows), gaining recognition for her professional approach to each and every project.

In addition, as many as 11 Polish productions and documentary co-productions will be screened as part of the parallel festival. More about the films in the festival programme here.

Ji.hlava Industry will run from 28 October to 1 November.

The project Polish Docs PRO focuses primarily on a wide promotion of Polish documentary film industry at international events addressed to film professionals. It supports film-makers and producers in developing their projects by facilitating access to the markets abroad, co-coordinating the trips of delegations to the pitching forums and co-production markets, organising the presentations of projects, production models and co-production opportunities with Poland, organising networking meetings, participation in lectures, panel discussions, workshops and training sessions. The aim of the Polish Docs PRO is to establish the brand of Polish documentary film in the international film environment and to develop international co-operation.

The project is coordinated by the Krakow Film Foundation and implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
