POLISH FILM-MAKERS - TALENTS IN BERLIN

The list of film-makers and projects, qualified for the programme Berlinale Talents, has just been announced. Among them, there are Polish film-makers.

Berlinale Talents are workshops for young film-makers, accompanying the International Film Festival in Berlin. This year, they are held from February 11 to 16.

It is a programme in which 250 participants from around the world can take part (this year, film-makers from 71 countries will appear), whose careers in film or television are no longer than ten years. The workshops are addressed to directors, producers, scriptwriters, cameramen, sound directors, actors, distributors, set designers, sales agents, editors and film critics.

Thanks to Berlinale Talents, young professionals have a chance to meet the most famous and  esteemed film industry experts (masterclasses and interactive panel discussions) and to participate in practical activities.

This year, among the people qualified for the programme, there are ten artists from Poland, including film-makers associated with the documentary film industry, among others, Agnieszka Zwiefka, Agnieszka Elbanowska, Anna Gawlita, Katarzyna Szczerba, Julia Popławska, Justyna Tafal and Katarzyna Boniecka. The participants of the programme also include Katarzyna Adamik, Tomasz Ciesielski and Daria Wiktoria Kopiec.

40 film projects are also qualified for Berlinale Talents. In the sections Doc Station, as one of the seven chosen productions, there is the film "Pray for peace, train for war" by Agnieszka Elbanowska. It is a project of a feature-length documentary film about a group of Polish civilians who prepare for fighting in case an armed conflict breaks out.
