POLISH CO-PRODUCTIONS TO PREMIERE AT CPH:DOX

Alisa Kovalenko's latest documentary, My Dear Theo, is set to make its world premiere in DOX:AWARD, the premier competition at the Danish festival. Meanwhile, the Icelandic-Polish documentary The Ground Beneath Our Feet directed by Yrsa Roca Fannberg has been selected for the NORDIC:DOX AWARD competition.

CPH:DOX, Copenhagen's celebrated film festival established in 2003, is widely considered the world's third-largest documentary film event. The festival typically showcases approximately 200 of the most compelling documentaries from across the globe. Every year, the event draws not only Danish audiences but also attracts international guests and leading filmmakers from around the world.

Selected for the main competition, My Dear Theo presents a deeply moving testament to the power of love in times of war. The director, Alisa Kovalenko, who serves as both a mother and a volunteer Ukrainian soldier, composes tender, poetic letters to her young son Theo whilst navigating the daily routines and brutal realities of life on the frontline.

The Ground Beneath Our Feet, featured in the NORDIC:DOX AWARD competition, offers an intimate portrait of elderly life, examining daily rituals and relationships in Grund, Iceland's oldest operating care home, which has been serving its community for close to a century. Director Yrsa Roca Fannberg, who has worked there as a nursing assistant for many years, is known to the film's protagonists as someone who assists with their daily needs.
