"JOANNA" RECEIVES SPECIAL MENTION IN SPAIN

Last week, the Special Mention given to documentary film "Joanna" by Aneta Kopacz in Barcelona joined the awards won by the film by now. “Joanna” was appreciated by the jury of the festival Docs Barcelona, which ended on 1st June.

This year, the festival Docs Barcelona was held for the eighth time. The closing gala combined with award ceremony took place on the 1st June in the Aribau Club cinema in Barcelona. The festival jury decided to give the special mention to the documentary film "Joanna" directed by Aneta Kopacz, "because it is a breathtaking and beautiful story, explained naturally with a poetic approach to pain."

Joanna - the eponymous protagonist - relishes every moment in spite of being diagnosed with a serious illness. She promised her five-year-old son that she would do anything to be with him as long as possible. She does not give up. For Jaś, she writes a blog in which she describes their everyday life - in a simple and accurate way. The blog itself inspires many readers to attentive, happy life. The film shows fragments from the life of Joanna, her husband Piotr and son Jaś. It uses discreet observations, is atmospheric and often funny. The film is simple and sensual, it tells about looking on life and about love.
